Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. The third book of that series.
I finished reading it a little over a week ago, and now I'm taking the time to rant about it. As my mood clearly states, I was not impressed. It was surely lacking, mostly at the ending, and I was extremely disapointed.
*-SPOILER ALERT-*
At the end of the book, The Cripple Who is Whole and his Golden Dragon (I won't even attempt at their names, as I will only spell them wrong) get killed by Murtagh. And it wasn't a good death at all! All of a sudden, Eragon is seeing through the Golden Dragon's eyes, and then WAM! Galbatorix is talking through Murtagh and then uses him to kill The Cripple Who Is Whole. He dies, and then his dragon quickly follows. LAME LAME LAME! I hated it. And quess what? THAT WAS THE ENDING OF THE BOOK! I had nothing else to use to recover from this terrible event...except the prospect of another book. So disapointed...
And no, I am not done.
Arya is finally crumbling to Eragon. I didn't like this at all! I mean, I knew she would eventually, but its still very sad. I don't think Eragon should ever be within 10 feet of her, and the fact Eragon never stops mentioning how "in love" with her he is, I secretly wished she wouldn't fall for him. But its happening and I am not happy.
I loved the fact that Murtagh appears, like, twice the entire book (notice my sarcasim)! He's my favourite character and he gets, like, five pages and then the book is over. Why isn't there more after what happened in Eldest? Why?
And then there was the story, in a literal sense. It didn't grab me, it didn't force me to say up late at night to read it. In fact, this was the second time I had attempted to read it, the first time I did not get all the way through. Sure, there was barely a dull moment, but somehow is was rather boring.
Overall, I expected more of Christpher Paolini. Since this was his third book, and he's now 22, I had expected him to start writing stuff better then his first book. But somehow that didn't really happen. Not saying his first book was amazing or anything, but somehow, it was more reader-grabing then Brisingr. *sigh* His fourth and final book better be good, or...or I'll do something I guess...

There are so many people out there who will tell you that you cant. What youve got to do is turn around and say, I can. Watch me.
Winning isnt everything, but wanting to win is.
To succeed, we must first believe that we can.
